Great Food, On Time, Anywhere

Like sisters, really...

They won't say how long ago, but Sylvia Adams and Trudy Waldo became fast friends when they were both California girls, Manhattan Beach residents, to be exact.

This was back when everybody liked to have fun, and still could.

Typically, at friendly gatherings, everyone at some point became famished. Then as now, the young women who would someday be known as the Gourmet Girls would, somewhat magically, produce a feast and abruptly put a stop to the would-be famine.

Because of our location (Red Lodge, Montana) at the time, we had a few opportunities to cater for commercial film projects, which was exciting, including the sleep deprivation part. Nissan and Oldsmobile come to mind, shooting in the rarified air of Beartooth Pass (11,000 feet above sea level, give or take).

Well, then, in 1990 along came the Irish Story, eventually titled Far and Away, and we were, so to speak, "in the movies". Not so much later, we weren't in the restaurant business anymore.

For Stars Catering had the (Irish Story) gig for Imagine Entertainment, but there were so many people on the set that Frank Woodward (a For Stars partner) asked us to feed the wranglers and some of the extras. Baptism by fire, to be sure, but Frank was a patient teacher and great mentor, for that matter, and we learned to do it the right way, right from the start.

There's more to the story, naturally, but this is a web site, so we'll have to tell you the rest when we see you.
